When children are born, they are assigned by nature, the suns and moons alike with a specific zodiac sign which will grant each child with great abilities and set them on special paths for who they will become. What abilities they will be gifted depends on their sign and this also signifies who their sign will be compatible with. At 19, all young adults are to attend a university/program where they will have their abilities tested and have a chance to get to know all the other zodiacs their age within their districts.
When they least expect it, four children of the sun are put to the test when rumors and secrets begin to emerge about the zodiac programs being rigged and corrupted.
Their dystopian world of districts slowly turn to flames, cold biomes, raging riots, and zodiac-racial gangs are created, becoming intolerant to other signs and keeping to their own out of fear of one another.
What happens when these four separate signs come together and stray from their groups?
Welcome to District 7, home of thousand suns.

Octavia couldn't believe the Leo boy in front of her. Why? What kind of question was that? She saved his life and he was telling her that she shouldn't have. One minute she felt bad for him and now she just wanted to slap him. She might have too if it wasn't for how frail she felt.
"Unbelievable," she muttered into the cold breeze around them, her eyes rolling before she pushed off of the tree she'd been using for support. She watched after him as he began heading deeper into the woods and she had half a mind to cuss him out for how he was acting towards her. "You're welcome," she glowered after him, ignoring his question on whether or not she could walk. She hit his arm with hers harshly as she got to his side and continued walking regardless of how shaky her legs felt.
The unlikely pair continued their trek through the woods in a harsh silence, neither one of them looking at each other. She could feel her body beginning to regenerate some of its strength, but it was a relatively slow process. Maybe that was why she felt some relief when they both stumbled across the Aries and Gemini that they had been chasing all along.
Although they weren't sure of where they all stood with one another, it felt better to be in larger numbers if they were willing to make it work. Especially with the destruction that was bound to rain on the world after the outbreak that had just occurred. It wouldn't take long for word to spread about the truth behind the schooling. Not only that, but they now needed to start thinking about what it all meant for them. They were using their abilities and they weren't only doing that, they were abusing their power, just like all the rampant students that scattered the area. No one was safe.
Octavia looked over the two new bodies in front of them. She had seen them before, but their names held no recognition in her mind. Aiden's voice freed her from her thoughts and she looked over the two in front of them, the girl shaking her head. They must have been in the same position judging by the encounter they were having. Confused and just trying to get out of the warzone around them.
"It looked like a lot of people headed for the cities borderline. Most of them wanted out of here and I know it's a risk, but we should head into the city to see what we can salvage. If we keep going on like this, we won't get very far." she gestured to the fact that Aiden barely had any clothing, and being in an exposing dress and heels wasn't her idea of a good time, to begin with, but when it came to stumbling through the woods it was damn near impossible.
"She's right," the Gemini boy chimed in. "We need shelter and a plan."
Octavia nodded, finding herself constantly eyeing the area around her for anyone coming. She was on edge, thirsty, and in desperate need of a shower.

The road to the city was littered with debris. She shouldn't have been surprised by the way that the city she once called home looked, but the feeling washed over her nonetheless. Businesses were destroyed, windows were broken, houses were on fire and some even collapsed in on themselves.
In the distance, she could hear sirens but she doubted that if the government had sent out anyone, they weren't going to make it long with the number of students that were now free.
Groaning, she stopped mid-walk and tugged her heels off her sore feet. Looking them over, they were destroyed. With a sigh, she chucked them to the side, abandoning them as they neared a large building that had been broken into, but not completely destroyed.
"Guys," Octavia pointed. "Clothes!" She was itching to get out of her dress and into something more compatible with her situation.
